Medical University of Gdańsk Admissions 2026/2027 – Deadlines, entry requirements and documents

22 May 2026 – the Electronic Candidate Registration System (ERK) opens.

For highly competitive programmes such as Medicine and Dentistry, as well as all long-cycle Master’s programmes, the first admission round follows this schedule:

• 22 May – 13 July 2026 – online registration, admission fee payment, and submission of exam results
• 17 July 2026 – publication of the first ranking list

For selected Bachelor’s programmes, including Nursing, registration remains open until 23 July 2026.

Most candidates with a Polish secondary school diploma are admitted based solely on their final exam results. Some international applicants may be required to complete additional entrance examinations or interviews, which are typically held between 13 and 17 July 2026.

In practice, it’s worth completing all formalities as early as possible. Admissions to medical programmes in Gdańsk are highly competitive every year.

The entire admissions process takes place online through the electronic candidate registration system (ERK) available on the university website.

This is where you:

• create your applicant account,
• choose your study programmes,
• upload required information,
• enter your examination results.

When registering, you will need a digital photograph that meets the following requirements:

• JPG format,
• minimum resolution of 300 dpi,
• dimensions of 236 × 295 pixels.

One advantage of the system is that you can apply for multiple programmes simultaneously. However, each programme requires a separate admission fee.

Applicants holding the so-called “old Matura” certificate must additionally provide a certificate from the regional examination board (OKE) with results expressed as percentages.

For first-cycle programmes and long-cycle Master’s programmes, the admission fee is:

PLN 100 per programme

For second-cycle (Master’s) programmes, the fee is:

PLN 85 per programme

It’s recommended to make the payment early. Your ERK account must be marked as “paid” before your application can be considered during the admissions process.

For Medicine, MUG uses a straightforward scoring system:

1% on an extended-level exam = 1 admission point

To participate in the admission process for Medicine or Dentistry, candidates must achieve at least:

• 50% in Extended Biology, and
• 50% in one of the following extended subjects:
  • Chemistry,
  • Physics,
  • Mathematics.

If two candidates receive the same total score, the applicant with the higher Biology result is ranked higher.

The Medical University of Gdańsk has been building an international academic community for many years.

These examinations can be carried out free of charge at the university’s Family Medicine Centre. New students are also required to complete an online ethics course prepared by the university.
